about Bekah Just
Rebekah (Bekah) Just is currently working on her Master of Fine Arts degree at UNLV, and has an extensive background in photography and graphic arts.
Beginning her career in Web Design, Bekah worked on the UC Santa Cruz e-zine Currents. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from University of California, Santa Cruz, Bekah was hired on as a web designer for Curious Labs (now e-frontier) . Specializing in 3D animation software, Bekah created Flash animated gifs and created The Lab Report, an online news letter for end users, along with the revamp of the Curious Labs official web site.
Bekah began freelance web design and photography for start up companies throughout California, including Out of the Jungle Events, SC Scum Skateboard Company, and Irie Coffee. She also created logos, t-shirts and web pages for bands including Inner Struggle, Liquid American Culture, and Manic Lounge.
After moving to Las Vegas, Bekah created the official Bombard Electric web site, and created layouts for publications and original photography for point of sale items. She developed the logo for Powered by Renewables and assisted with an advertising layout for Kyocera solar panels. Bekah also became co-owner of Proper Riot Clothing, and not only created the web site with online store, but also produced the company's identity with print ready original graphics for silk screening and advertising.
Bekah is now incorporating print making and performance into her fine art portfolio. Her current work is heavily based on Bekah Just & the Ex-Boyfriends - a swing band that appropriates gangsta rap lyrics. |
